Graduate Profile

The outcomes of The Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Airlangga are pharmacists that graduated from the Apothecary Profession Study Program. The profiles of the graduates can be described as:

  1. Caregiver

A pharmacist is able to provide pharmaceutical care and able to interact professionally with individuals or communities. A pharmacist has to provide sustainable high-quality pharmaceutical practices which are integrated with healthcare stakeholders, including fellow pharmacists.

  1. Decision-maker

In performing pharmaceutical services, a pharmacist must be able to evaluate, synthesize, and make decisions so that they are able to perform their duty correctly, appropriately, and effectively in utilizing the available resources (i.e. personnel, medicine, chemicals, instruments, procedures, and practice).

  1. Communicator

A pharmacist has the knowledge, confidence, and good communication skills (verbal, nonverbal, listening, and writing) in order to be able to bridge pharmaceutical services between doctors, patients, and other health practitioners when interacting with other health workers or with communities.

  1. Leader

A pharmacist has to be able to be a leader in some aspects and situations (i.e: in a team), and have the leadership qualities, including the capability to empathize, communicate, make decisions, and effective management as well as the capability to lead in any health workers limitation, to making public welfare.

  1. Manager

A pharmacist has to be able to manage all pharmacy resources (human, physical, and financial) and information; has a high responsibility to spread the information about drugs and related pharmacy products; as well as being able to cooperate with teams as a leader or as a manager in health care services team.

  1. Life-long learner

A pharmacist has to have a high spirit, concepts, principles, and commitment as a pharmacist all the time and has to always follow as well as study as long as their pharmacist career.

  1. Teacher

A pharmacist has to have a responsibility in accompanying future pharmacists’ studies, as a pharmacist, or as a teacher. It is expected that the graduate is able to spread knowledge and new information or develop the existing knowledge, for health workers and society.

  1. Researcher

A pharmacist has to have the competencies and commitment to do research and make strategic decisions and be fully responsible in all aspects that are relevant to pharmaceutical problems
